About Us

In the last 40 years, our eating habits have drastically changed. Today, half of the food in a typical weekly shop in the UK is ultra-processed—food our grandparents would struggle to recognise.

From an early age, we feed this ultra-processed food to our children, often unaware of its impact on our family’s health and wellbeing. Since the 1980s, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other metabolic conditions like high blood pressure and unhealthy cholesterol levels.

Have we suddenly become fat and lazy, or has our food environment changed? What if we could stay healthy for longer? What if the very food we eat and the lifestyles we lead could be improved so that we could face a future with less reliance on visits to the GP or local hospital?

We are building an army of real food enthusiasts who spread the word and inspire others. We believe in the power of real food and regular exercise as cornerstones of a healthy lifestyle.

Real Food Runners is an inclusive running club dedicated to promoting health and wellness through a real food lifestyle. We welcome individuals and families passionate about improving their health and engaging in meaningful conversations about real food.
